Kristen L. McKeever

Of Counsel

Kristen McKeever is Of Counsel to the firm and has been with the firm for five years. Her primary practice areas are civil appellate law, commercial litigation, legal ethics and legal malpractice defense. She has worked on some of the most important and successful briefs our firm has filed. She joined the firm from the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., where she both prosecuted and defended civil cases on behalf of government agencies. She began her career as a Law Clerk for the Hon. Karen Nelson Moore, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, in Cleveland. She practiced as an associate at Baker Botts in Houston and then became partner at Houston-based litigation firm Smyser Kaplan & Veselka, where she was recognized as a Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine.

Kristen received her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, she served as Primary Editor for the Harvard Law Review.
